The Engineering Scholarship Programme

Alisha Massey

This year, the Middlesbrough College Group is proud to launch the Engineering Scholarship Programme, a pioneering initiative designed to help nurture the engineers of tomorrow.

This initiative is part of our commitment to growing talent and inspiring young people in the field of engineering. Our state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive training programmes equip students with the skills, knowledge and competencies necessary to excel in the engineering sector and to develop those all-important hands-on practical skills needed by employers.

Join us in shaping the future of young engineers by being part of The Engineering Scholarship Programme. For only £850, this shared investment provides an excellent opportunity for your organisation to support and mentor the brightest engineering students in the region, whilst also gaining access to a talented pool of future professionals!

This programme is a pioneering partnership opportunity designed to attract high-performing students to engineering. The scheme matches top-performing Level 3 engineering students in their second year of study with participating employers, developing learners’ practical skills to prepare them for a career in engineering.

Students will receive a monthly bursary payment of £200, paid for by Middlesbrough College and Employer, and benefit from industry-standard uniforms, work experience, mentoring support, and talks and site visits.

Local businesses will contribute to the curriculum and provide industry-specific training. Employers can also use this programme to identify and recruit top talent. This combination of financial support, practical training, and future job opportunities aims to create a desirable scholarship that will draw students into the field of engineering.
