Extended Technical Occupational Entry in Electrical Engineering (Renewable Energy) (Diploma) – Level 2

Modules offered may vary.

Units include:

• Engineering environment awareness
• Sustainable engineering
• Engineering techniques
• Engineering mathematics and science principles
• Electrical and Electronic Principles
• Electrical and Electronic Testing Methods
• Electronic Systems and Devices
• Electrical Systems and Devices

This is a 1 year course studied September – June, with potential exams/coursework hand in dates/extra sessions in July.

At least three GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English language, maths and science.

Learners who have not achieved Grade 4 or above in GCSE English language and/or maths will have these subjects added to the timetable.

You will be assessed through observation (with appropriate witness testimony), mandatory online testing and on-going assignments.

Upon successful completion of this course, learners can progress onto the Level 3 qualification in engineering or into an apprenticeship.

To support learning both in college and at home, all full-time learners aged 16-19 (or 16-24 with SEND) can borrow a laptop free of charge through the MC Click FREE Loan Laptop Scheme.

Learners must return the laptop when they leave the college. A charge of £50 will apply for repairable damage. If the laptop is lost, not returned, or damaged beyond repair, the learner will be required to pay the full replacement cost.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.
