TTE set up a satellite centre through PAA/VQ-SET to deliver NVQ Level 3 to AMPCO technicians.
Following on from the successful delivery of the off the job training and assessment to NVQ Level 2 programmes in the UK, TTE International were asked to undertake on the job training and assessment of 100 + technicians to NVQ Level 3 in both engineering maintenance disciplines and process operations, in order to enable staff career development. In order to achieve this, TTE set up a satellite centre through PAA/VQ-SET to deliver these qualifications.
TTE’s role
TTE has provided peripatetic assessors and verifiers to Equatorial Guinea on a regular basis. Since 2009 the following disciplines have been covered: Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Process Operations. In 2012, Laboratory qualifications were added to the remit.
Summary of the main activities included:
- Assessment and IQA of technicians to NVQ Diploma Level 3 standards in line with nationalisation programmes
- Provision of laboratory improvements to ISO17025 standards
- Consultancy work for core laboratory skills gap analysis and analytical operation provision
- Mentoring and coaching of personnel to better support technician development on the plant.
To date this has been an extremely successful contract with in excess of 90% of trainee technicians achieving their qualifications.
