Step 2: Apply!

Take a look through our courses here and find a course be suited to your career goals.

Click “Apply” on your chosen course and complete the application form.

For Electrical Engineering and Instrumentation and Control Engineering courses, you must submit your application before 26th January 2026 to be considered as part of the main application process for TTE.

Alternatively, you can apply with a paper copy of our application form. If you see our Schools Liaison team at your school, or come along to an open event, ask for an application form and either hand it back to our team or send it in the post.

Step 3: Subject Showcase Event

Next, we’ll invite you to a Showcase Event.

This is your chance to visit us, meet your tutors and ask any questions to make sure the course is right for you.

You must attend to be offered a condition place.

For Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation and Control course applicants:

Complete an Aptitude Test

If you have applied for TTE’s Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation and Control courses, you will be invited to complete an aptitude test after your Showcase Event.

Regular testing slots are available from September to February, and testing will be scheduled based on your application date.

Due to limited places, conditional offers will be made to applicants with the highest test score.

Step 4: Conditional Offer

If successful, you will receive a conditional offer by email and letter with your next steps.

This offer is subject to your GCSE results.

For Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation and Control course applicants

Conditional offers will be made in February based on your aptitude test results and predicted GCSE grades. In cases of a tied score, interviews may be required.

Applicants not receiving offers may be placed on a waiting list and informed of their position.

If you apply to an Electrical Engineering and/or Instrumentation and Control course after 26th January 2026, you will be added to the waitlist.

Step 5: Accept your offer

You can accept your conditional offer at your Showcase Event, by phone or via email. It is essential that you accept your offer to secure your conditional place.

Step 6: Enrolment

Enrolment starts in August each year.

When you have completed the above steps, you will receive a letter and email from our Admissions team with an allocated date and time to enrol on your course.

This appointment will be on or after GCSE Results Day (Thursday 20th August 2026) and will allow you time to collect your results from school. You will need to bring these to your appointment.

It is essential that you attend this appointment to secure your place for September 2026.

We highly encourage that you do not book time away during this time period, as you may risk losing your space on your chosen course.

Please be aware, all offers at the Middlesbrough College Group are conditional, subject to attaining the entry requirements, completing the full onsite enrolment process and course place availability.
