Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering – Level 3

Modules offered may vary.

Modules will include:

• Healthand safety in an engineering environment
• Maths for engineering technicians
• Industrial process measurement
• Engineering drawing
• Process plant control
• Electrical principles

This is a 2 year course studied September – June, with potential exams/coursework hand in dates/extra sessions in July.

At least four GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English language, maths and science. You can also progress onto this course once you have achieved an appropriate Level 2 qualification.

You will be assessed through observation (with appropriate witness testimony), short online testing and on-going assignments.

1 overall grade after year 2

Equivalent to 2 A levels

This qualification will provide you with a range of transferable skills so that you can progress onto an Apprenticeship, Further Education or Employment.

The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into further education.

Tuition fees are free if you are a UK or home-fee status student and aged 16-18 on the 31st August before the start of your course.

For Instrumentation and Control Engineering courses, you must submit your application by 25th January 2027 to be considered as part of the main recruitment process for TTE. You must attend a Subject Showcase to be considered. Applications received after thisdate will be placed on a waiting list.
