TTE International recently delivered a bespoke commercial training programme for a cohort of engineers and technical professionals from Emirates Global Aluminium.
The programme was designed in partnership with Emirates Global Aluminium to strengthen core mechanical knowledge and welding and inspection capability, combining theory, hands-on practical training and direct industry engagement.
Programme focus areas included:
- Basic Pneumatics and Hydraulics
- Pumps and Valves
- Welding Processes (MMA, MIG, TIG and Submerged Arc)
- NDT Welding Techniques and Inspection methods
Alongside hands-on training, the delegates also took part in industry site visits to Oceaneering, Chemoxy and Seqens and took part in industry insight sessions with Altrad, giving them exposure to UK engineering environments and operational best practices.
Nouf Mubarak, Project Risk Manager at EGA, said: “The hands-on practice with MMA, MIG, and TIG welding, combined with the site visits to Oceaneering and Seqens, helped us understand and appreciate the amount of skill and effort that goes into welding. It’s very different when you try it yourself, and the support made the learning smooth and enjoyable.”
Ali Hussain, Graduate Engineer at Emirates Global Engineering, added: “All three main welding types (MMA, MIG, and TIG) were clearly explained, and we had the opportunity to practice each one.
“We also learned about common welding defects, how to identify them, and the inspection tools used. We performed macro etching and nick break tests, which were especially useful as these techniques are part of our site activities. The NDT theory was also explained in a clear and structured way.
Bashayer Alhumairi, Reliability Engineer, added: “I want to thank our instructors for the way they delivered the sessions. Everything was explained clearly and our instructors guided us during the practical work and shared a lot of helpful tips from their experience. The support and patience made the training smooth and easy to follow.”
