CompEx Dust EX05 & EX06

Certificates/qualifications – The candidate must provide evidence of their Electrical/Instrument apprenticeship, Electrical/Instrument NVQ Level 3, BETC Diploma or HNC, along with other relevant electrical/instrumentation qualification certificates on booking – this is a mandatory requirement from the awarding body (JTL), a booking will not be confirmed until this information is received. Proof of a Gold Card from the JIB/SJIB will ensure the candidate is automatically accepted onto the course. Should the delegate not hold these qualifications or provide this evidence prior to the start of the course they will receive a Non-technical certificate. A working knowledge and experience of electrical installation and inspection is required. Along with the qualifications, the candidate must also be a practising electrical/instrument craftsperson. Previous CompEx Ex01 to Ex04 qualification would be advantageous.

• JTL Candidate Competency Letter – The candidate’s employer must complete the JTL candidate competency letter and print on company letterhead. This must be emailed to us on booking and the original brought on the first day of the course. This does not apply to Self-employed delegates.

• JTL Registration form – This must be completed and returned on booking; photographic identification (ie passport / photo driving licence) should be brought to the course.
  For all the above original documents must be produced on the first day of training.

All personnel attending the course should have a good understanding of the English Language and Technical Engineering terminal.

Each candidate is required to demonstrate competence through an on-line multi-choice question paper test and a series of practical tests. Please allow up to 6 weeks for your results to be available.

Successful delegates will receive a UK JTL Certificate of Core Competence valid for 5 years.

Please note, the certificate will expire in 5 years from the date of issue and it is recommended that the 2-day CompEx Dust course is taken at least 3 months before the day.

• Characteristics of combustible dusts

• Area classification, Zone 20, 21 and 22
• Concept of dust ignition protection
• Selection of apparatus, cabling, glanding & terminations
• Inspection and testing
• Maintenance and remedial
